Høyres landbrukspolitiske talsperson, Lene Westgaard-Halle var på bedriftsbesøk hos Skalleberg Gartneri 10.august. Ernst Skalleberg, nestleder i NGFs hovedstyre, viste rundt i deler av produksjonsanlegget og sammen med styreleder Kristian Solberg og generalsekretær Katrine Røed Meberg orienterte de om sentrale saker for næringen.
Westgaard-Halle er fra før kjent med noen av utfordringene næringen har, men ga signaler om at hun vil se nærmere på saker som blant annet plantevernsituasjonen og UDI-gebyret for sesongarbeider.
Det ble et godt og nyttig møte. Bedriftsbesøk er viktig for å engasjere og gi politikerne bedre innsikt i norsk grøntproduksjon. Det næringspolitiske arbeidet har som mål å bedre rammebetingelsene for grøntnæringen.
